emil mesmer, the patient, was born of 4 kids in a poor family where his mother was extremely unwell and abusive, while his father didn't do much to help him. he was eventually given away to a man who ran a popular dog-fighting ring. this man was unfortunately no better than his biological family, as one day emil had accidentally fallen into the dog-fighting pit where he nearly lost his life. the crowd was cruel, and was more excited to see emil fighting a dog rather than just another dog.
due to emil now being regarded as a dog, sleeping in a dog cage and eating out of a dog bowl, he developed more dog-like behaviors rather than human ones. emil had suffered with fevers, and it had finally taken a toll on him by wiping most of his memory, giving him amnesia. emil was found on white sand street and taken to the white sand street asylum for treatment of his odd behavior. he was diagnosed with amnesia, manic fits and severe aggression tendencies, and his treatment consisted of high doses of pain medication and electroshock therapy.
on september 29th, ada mesmer had begun her 11-day training program at the asylum and took a particular interest in emil for he responded well to her hypnotherapy, however that wasn't all. ada had grown fond of emil, and told him she was lowering his dosage of pain medication in order to help him out of his dissociative state. she had given him gifts, as token of friendship while emil made a wire ring for her in response. emil liked ada out of all the doctors, for she treated him like a person unlike the others. on ada's 7th day, she had told emil that she only had 3 days left at the asylum, emil was devastated upon hearing this news. ada then created a plan where she would escape with emil and bring him to the outside world.
on october 10th, ada and emil escaped the asylum together and found a new home that was isolated from people; emil had written in his diary that getting there would take a long time, and that there was a forest and river behind it. everything was perfect, until emil had a decline in his mental health. ada, now both his wife and caretaker, reached out to an old friend on a offer he made.
it's unknown when ada and emil went to the manor, but it is heavily theorized that the other people present were the mind's eye, sculptor, and novelist. it's also heavily theorized that due to the closet diary and galatea's birthday letter that emil most likely was murdered by orpheus before his manor game.
emil was one of the first characters i had become interested in when i had first gotten into identity v. i had seen one of his s-tier skins for sale that i thought was pretty so of course i had bought it. i had also seen his release trailer on youtube and kind of was hooked from there. i originally played as ada, the psychologist, but emil eventually became one of my mains from how much i love him and his character.
while i wish there was more information on him, so far all i have of him is his deduction star quotes and birthday letters (along with helena's and galatea's birthday letters... but i pretend they don't exist). i'm hoping next year on his birthday, october 10th, there will be more information released about him. but nonetheless, i find emil to be very cute and i find his withdrawn and silly personality to be very charming. i think his :3 face is cute, i find his messy hair to be cute, and i think his dance emote in-game is very cute. he is a very cute man in my eyes. i just wish they would give this boy shoes.
